You may have heard the dreadful news that on Mike Vick’s (football player) property, illegal dog fights were happening. All evidence points to Mike Vick heading it, and why not? He is a successful NFL player, and no one would think bad of him because of a couple of dead dogs, right? TERRIBLY wrong. These news confounded me when I first heard them. Why would anyone seek pleasure in watching dogs maul themselves to DEATH? Many others feel the same confusion as to this enjoyment, so dog fighting has been banned in most states, including the state that Vick’s property is on. Apparently, Vick knows nothing about these dog fights, and was just as surprised to find out as we are? Well, that is a bunch of junk. All signs are pointing to guilty, and yes, I am sorry if he actually is innocent, but I want to be sure that everything possible is being done to give these dogs the justice they deserve. I know that he isn’t the only dog fighting encourager (assuming he is one) and that other dogs too deserve their justice. But the thing about these public dogs, is that someone well known has them, and if these dogs are granted their justice, more will go into helping all dogs.
Inform everyone you know about the dreadful happenings to these poor innocent animals. I don’t want to hear anything about them, “wanting to fight,” they are made to fight, sometimes threatened to do so.

I am very proud to hear you speaking out against the cruelities of the world. I wonder how many other such activities go on behind our backs. Though I do believe that Mr Vick should not be hanged until he is found guilty by the legal courts of our land; after all that is what America is all about. Fairness and following the laws set up by many wise men before either of us were born.
Kaitie, dog fighting is such a horrible- and unfortunately- rising epidemic in our country today. I remember reading about it for my Freshman Project on Animal Rights. I can’t believe that a so-called “American Idol” such as Vick would do such a horrible thing. By the way, don’t forget to comment on my blog!
That makes me sad to hear that those events happen day-to-day. A similair inhumane act known as cock fighting is quite similair, but instead the “encouragers” excuse is there are alot of chickens in the world…who acres if a few die?” Well, that say alot about human nature…Doesn’t everyone and everything deserve to live? Why do we harm things that do nothing to us? I am proud to hear that you are voicing your opinions against this crime that is wrong in so many ways.
